I finally painted fire dept. mural

I have been working as a paid call firefighter at the state hospital. I designed this mural about a year ago this week I got it done. I am grateful to be creating a public art portfolio and happy I got one of my goals done this weekend. I love doing creative work like this. I hope to find more opportunities to do so.

It's my goal to post a photo each day this year. So far so good. Other plans to take my art serious for a change. To seek out experiences to build up my ability to do public art. I love the experience of projects and hope to learn how to better my situation. I think it's important to go after what you truly know will make you better in life. My job now is a rut like job. I will make the best of it but I will seek to better my self to make a change.

I love artist trading cards because they are the perfect way to experiment and make thumbnails for larger paintings. Speaking of thumbnails I am working on a mural design. It's nice to feel a drive to create art.

ART A LA MODE

• Art a la mode.  Lately we have been slacking on the Art nights held at our house. I am re-inspired.  A little vacation can do that for you.  So we are planning a December Art A la mode TBA.  
• A good art night must include friends
• Treats preferably ice cream.
• Learning a new art skill
• experimenting with the new technique

So I challenge my readers to hold an art night of your own and post them on my sight.

Palm tree painting

This is my first painting from photo's I took in Mexico. I loved these photos I took from life on the streets in puerto vallarta. I love life an the vibe a city can offer to strangers. This city felt alive an slightly refreshing from life as we know it.

$100 and Under

Jesse will have a few art pieces (including this beauty) in The Claassen Gallery "$100 and Under" Art Show that opens tomorrow (Friday) at 8 p.m. in San Luis Obispo. The art will be up through April 1st.  Looking through sketch books, Jesse found a smaller version of this homegirl.  He was inspired to blow it up for Jeff Claassen's show.

Alyssa's Note:  We are big fans of The Claassen Gallery and the Montana Spray Paint that they sell.  Jeff's Gallery is a fun place to hang out and he is just a good guy all-around.  Big fans.  We are big fans.
